In the tournaments for the big time conferences of the Big East, Big Ten and ACC, Ohio State destroyed hopeful Minnesota for the Big Ten championship.

For the second year in a row, Duke took the ACC championship and in a thrilling game to the last second. West Virginia was crowned Big East Champions for the first time in school history.

Despite these teams winning their respected conference's championship, only Duke was awarded a No. 1 one seed for the South region in the tournament. Kentucky, with new head coach John Calipari and star John Wall earned the No. 1 one seed in the East.

Syracuse, despite losing in the first round of their Big East tournament was granted the No. 1 seed in the West region. Rounding out the No.1 seeds was Kansas, who was given the No.1 seed in the Midwest and No. 1 overall in the entire field of 65.

Inquiring minds probably question why Syracuse seems to have the easiest road to the Final Four instead of Kansas, when now overall No. 1 seed Kansas has to potentially deal with the physical play of No. 5 seed Michigan State, player of the year Evan Turner with the No. 2 seed Ohio State and No. 3 seed Georgetown who had the hardest schedule in all of college basketball this year according to the RPI.
