Coming off of her international success from her novel "The Historian," Elizabeth Kostova has released her second novel, "The Swan Thieves." This story starts off with a well-known artist, Robert Oliver, trying to destroy a painting in the National Gallery of Art. After being admitted to a psych ward, psychiatrist Andrew Marlow seeks to reveal Oliver's secrets. The only problem is, Oliver will not talk. Traveling around the country and interviewing those that knew Oliver best, Kostova is able to paint a picture that intertwines art, history and the human spirit.
