Blagojevich to Speak at Northwestern Illinois University
Ben Harley
Issue date: 2/23/10 Section: Opinion
According to "The Daily Northwesterner", next Tuesday, March 2, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich will be appearing at the Northwestern University Campus. The evening, hosted by the College Democrats, will concern talks about corruption in politics.
The night's agenda includes a talk by, followed by a question and answer session between the former governor and the NU faculty and finally it will end with students being able to ask Blagojevich their own questions.
While I believe that this tacky criminal (with the mouth of a gangster rapper) should be spending time in jail, this is a great opportunity for any political active students in the area.
With Northwestern University being slightly over an hour away, BU students with an interest in politics should defiantly be attending this event. This is an hour to watch ethical, well-educated people ask pointed questions to a once elected crook.
How often in the news do we hear talk of no sustenance, how often do we see our politicians dancing with the stars or babbling nonsensical buzz words. Finally, we will have a politician backed into a corner, and we can hear it.
We finally have an opportunity to hear someone inside the broken system try to explain themselves to an intelligent crowd. He cannot attempt to confuse this crowd by not answering the questions they will be on to his game.
Of course imagining that Blagojevich will tell all of this dirty secrets is ridiculous, but it will defiantly be an interesting evening - probably even educational. I suggest that anyone interested in politics at BU attend this event. "The Daily Northwesterner" the College Democrats has not released a date to begin ticket sales, but it should happen sometime next week.
Nights cannot be relived; we can never go back to a missed opportunity; will this event fall into that category for you?

Wow, learn to get your facts straight before putting up bs like this. "The Daily Northwesterner?" C'mon. And how do you botch a headline like that? It's NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY not Northwestern Illinois University. (Continued…)
