The sophomore album from "Vampire Weekend," has met with both critical and commercial success, debuting #1 on Billboard. "Contra" mixes ska, calypso, synth-pop and ballads into a compilation of sounds.
The band has expanded their orchestral arsenal to include electronic sounds.
Those who did not like "VW's" first album will loath "Contra." But for fans of the first, "VW" has created an album that shines on it's own and shows promise for the future.
