Incarcerated Gangster Given Facebook Page

LONDON, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- A British man serving a 35-year prison sentence for conspiracy to murder says he was allowed to communicate with people outside prison via Facebook.
The Sunday Times of London said while underworld godfather Colin Gunn insists he has a legal right to use the social networking Web site while in prison, critics question whether the inmate is using Facebook to threaten others.
"I will be home one day and I can't wait to look into certain people's eyes and see the fear of me being there," Gunn, 42, wrote in one Facebook posting.
Gunn, who was convicted of ordering the killings of two grandparents, used the online site for two months, amassing as many as 565 Facebook friends in the process.
The Sunday Times said Gunn's Facebook page was taken down Friday after the newspaper offered concerns about the online account.
Justice Secretary Jack Straw meanwhile insists Facebook use by prisoners will face a crackdown since inmates are not allowed to use such social networking sites.
