On Monday, the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers visited the White House at the request of President Barack Obama.
The team was honored by President Obama and they received the highest compliment by saying no team exemplified excellence on the court more than the Lakers as they won their 15th NBA title last season.
The President was thrilled to meet coach Jackson and honored him because he has 10 championship rings. Jackson has the most championships of any coach in every professional sport.
The Lakers play tonight against the Washington Wizards at 6 p.m. CT. The team is on an eight game road trip, their longest of the year and they are currently 1-2 on the trip with games to play in Indiana, Philadelphia, Boston and Memphis.
