With school back in session, Benedictine students are advised not to fall into a lull when reentering the repetitious cycle of attending classes, studying and sleeping for fear of missing another one of the Programming Board's exclusive events and the chance to win a $200 cash prize.

PB is sponsoring a ThinkFast Game Show on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 9 p.m. in the upper level of Krasa, rooms ABC. TjohnE Productions, Inc., a booking and production company, will present their unique event to BU, allowing all students who attend to actively participate in a pop culture trivia game for a chance to win the grand prize of $200.

According to the TjohnE website, ThinkFast is a trivia game that "incorporates a high quality production set with the best sound and video equipment, the most interesting, fun trivia, mainstream music and music videos, a gregarious host to interact with [the] audience, and a winner-take-all cash prize."

The TjohnE website also described how the game works. ThinkFast is set up with a stage, sound system and several screens that display multiple choice trivia questions and music videos. Either individuals or team members, depending on what the size of the audience calls for, send in their answers to the trivia questions via a supplied remote called the Fleetwood Wireless Keypad. Points are awarded to those who choose the correct answer the quickest, and those with the most points are able to advance to higher levels, eventually competing for the final prize.

However, individuals or teams who do not score well early in the game may have just as good of a chance of winning as those who do score well.

"[ThinkFast] involves Wild Cards," said sophomore, Kim Schaefer, member of PB. With Wild Cards, the entire audience can stay engaged for the whole of the game.

ThinkFast has won several awards, including the Novelty Event of the Year, as claimed by TjohnE's website. Yet the company offers more than just this one event; TjohnE Productions, Inc. provides various events for college campuses across the country, although BU has yet to experience its award-winning one.

"It's the first year we're trying it on campus," said Schaefer. But despite the event's newness to BU, sophomore Aileen Maxwell, also member of PB, is confident that it will succeed and be popular with the students.

"I just hope we'll be able to get a lot of the students out [for the ThinkFast Game Show]," said Maxwell.

Schaefer stated that it would be worth the while to attend.

"You answer a few questions for [possibly] $200 … It's worth it to come," she said.

Although the ThinkFast Game Show replaced the original Club Neon event, Club Neon will be held at a later date to accommodate time for appropriate preparation.
