The Eagles picked a good day to execute their offense perfectly as they faced Concordia University Chicago. The Cougars came into the game tied for first place with Lakeland College in the Northern Athletics Conference.

The Cougars needed to win the game to capture the NAC championship, but the Eagles would have something to say about that. Benedictine defeated the Cougars 15-14. The win put BU two games above .500, (6-4, 5-2). The win also means that the Eagles finished second in the NAC.

The matchup against CUC was a game of the defense vs. offense. BU head football coach said, "Defense Wins Championships."

The Eagles Defense stopped and contained a highly ranked offensive team. The Defense only allowed 14 points. CUC entered the averaging over 400 yards a game and the Eagles held them to 225 total offensive yards.

As impressive as the defense, the offense played their best game of the season. Senior quarterback, Dave Klinger threw for 134 yards while completing 10 of his 18 attempts. John Alessi carried the ball 32 times for 122 yards.

Wide Receiver, Matt Jenkins had his best game of the season as he caught six passes for 81 yards.

The Eagles dominated the time of possession, (38:17-21:43).

Both sides of the football played well, but the game ball would certainly go to the defense. Senior Linebacker, Alex Dewey landed on a live football in the end zone for a touchdown. The defense caused a football deep in the opposition's territory and that led to a score.

The last play of the year for the defense ended with a near sack and Senior defensive back, Travis Newsome breaking up a pass in the end zone.

The game was a thriller and the Eagles defeated a team headed for the NAC crown.

The team finshed above .500 for the first time in several seasons.
