Dominant game, not quite, but it certainly looked like the Bears ruled the game as they overtook the Cleveland Browns this past Sunday at Soldier Field. The Bears defeated the Browns, 30-6. The Chicago Bears that lost to the Bengals last week, 45-10 decided to get off the bus this week running the football.
Matt Forte carried the ball 26 times while rushing for 90 yards and he scored two touchdowns. This week the Bears made a consistent to stick with the running game and it paid dividends.
Although the Bears didn't need their offense at all because the defense forced five turnovers, they can't play any worse than they did this against the Browns.
Cutler was out of sync with his wide receivers and the offensive line woes continued. Josh Beekman, left guard started this week in place of Frank Omiyale. He didn't dominate, but he was effective in his first starting opportunity of the season for the Bears.
This was not a great game for either sides of the football, but it was a great place to start because the season coming up isn't favorable.
This Sunday, the Arizona Cardinals come to Soldier Field and the defense will be tested again because of the high powered offense the Cardinals obtain.
The Bears defense will have to meet the challenge if they hope to catch the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North. The Vikings have a two game lead on the Bears in the division.
The Bears have some momentum now and they need to keep it up because the next four games will determine the remainder of the season.
With this past win, the Bears are (4-3,1-1).
