The scariest film of the season is being released this week. "Paranormal Activity" is running on 159 screens in 44 cities and according to early reports, it is headed for a box-office smash. Critics nationwide are without a doubt terrified of "Paranormal Activity." "An ingenious horror film. It's so well made it's truly scary," said Roger Ebert, The Chicago Sun- Times.

According to Richard Corliss at the Times said, "Shot three years ago by Peli, an Israeli-born video maker, for $11,000 in a week in his house, the picture played a few fright festivals in 2007. While DreamWorks considered buying the rights to do a remake with stars, Steven Spielberg took a copy of "PA" home to watch it; when he finished his screening, he found his bathroom door inexplicably locked…Two weeks ago, Paramount started playing Peli's film at midnight in 16 college towns. Many showings were sold out."

The campaign for "Paranormal Activity," to be released to the public is already a movie-industry legend, according to Times Magazine. The "screamfest" of the season has nationwide development, after their record- setting demands and through the websites growing popularity; Paramount Pictures will begin releasing the film on Oct. 16. Over 1,000,000 fans have voted all over the US that are demanding the film to be played in their city by logging on to ParanormalMovie.com.

In response to the over-whelming support from fans, Paramount Pictures will be selling tickets at ParanormalMovie.com starting at 5p.m. PST, on Oct. 13. Those who have 'demanded it' will be able to buy tickets online before they are available to the public.

Currently there are 26,446 people that are demanding Paranormal Activity in the Chicago-land area, but every day the votes are increasing. It has become the most anticipated horror-film of the fall and with Halloween coming up, audiences are preparing for a thrill-seeking scary movie.

"Paranormal Activity" has been said to be the opposite of the typical 'gore' film that most horror-films end up being, such as the "Saw" films. It has set itself apart from the rest, by the way it is shot and the spine-cringing and hair-rising effect the film has on you, which stays with you long after the movie is over. Even the trailers for the film have caused viewers full body flinching. "A potent frightfest, that will fry your nerves and creep you out," said Peter Travers, Rolling Stone.
