The second annual African-American Student Union fashion show displayed a host of talents, characters and attitudes. Students, parents, friends, family members, alumni, faculty and staff surrounded the runway in the Krasa Center.

The runway was designed for the models to strut their stuff and entertain the crowd. The theme of this year's fashion show was called "Rhythm on the Runway."

The show had eleven scenes and was hosted by Young Fresh and the Kool. Models for the show were Danielle Benjamin, Dennis Davis, Farrah Dorsey, Caroline Ebeling, David Ebeling, Brittany Felton, Maraea Mason, Ebony Saunders and Anton Walker. The Coordinators for the event were Deidra Durham, Kelly Mitchum, Zainab Muhammed, Kimberly Sahara and Richard Zemola.

The executive board included President Briana Holland and Vice President Paige Watkins. Kimyenna Abron is the advisor and Thierry Boulin is the Publicist.

Holland thought the show went well and was pleased with the crowd. "It was a good crowd and all that hard work and practice paid off. We were small in numbers, but I was pleased with how we performed."

The fashion show had some interesting scene names such as: Rockin the Runway, Single Ladies, The Boulevard, Benedictine Wear, Rebel with a Cause, Harajuku Girl, Pajama Day, One Night in Paris, Sheek Geek, Urban Nerd Experience and the finale, Be You.

Students were allowed to show their individualism and talents amongst the different scenes. The crowd was really into the scenes and seemed to enjoy everything. During the fashion show, raffle tickets were being sold and all of the benefits from the fashion show will be donated to help support the youth to help pay for summer camp for individuals who can't afford it. The donations will go to the North Lawndale YMCA.

The fashion show consisted of not only BU students. The Jay Lightz Dance Team from Elmhurst College performed.

Holland said. "That was done mostly through networking and they came out and really helped us."

Marty Young thought the fashion show was interesting and lively. "It gave me a chance to mingle with friends, get out and have a good time. The Dallas Mavericks are playing right now, so I must really be enjoying the show if I am here instead of watching the game. Overall, good show though."
